Steam Package Building, 1 Lime Street

Former Office building housing the British and Irish Steam Packet company, built in approximately 1909. Constructed of masonry brick external walls, timber truss, gambrel roof, solid concrete ground floor with suspended timber upper floors. Painted timber sliding sash windows and timber panel doors, lath and lime plaster ceilings/timber stud partitions with painted finishes and a mixture of encaustic tiles and timber floor finishes.  The Works included:

  • Façade conservation- cleaning and brick repairs, stone repairs, new lead to string course and chimneys.
  • Replace the roof finishes, reuse existing material.
  • Repairs of sash windows.
  • Repair lath & plaster to ceilings & walls, including stabilisations.
  • Repair and conserve cornices to existing internal walls.
  • Fit out & Finishes
